Instructions on Completing the Online Application
-    Please enter the data directly in the online application system and save the data for each section before proceeding.
-    Please fill in the application form in English only.
-    Applicant can submit ONE application only.
-    Applicant can apply for more than one programme.
-    Please click "Save" before "Sign Out" to avoid data loss. You can continue to fill in the application by clicking "Sign In" to login the system again.
-    Please remember to "Sign Out", or otherwise your account will be suspended for 15 minutes and any data entered may be lost.
-    If a section in the application has been left idle for 15 minutes, the user account will be automatically logged out and you will need to sign in again before you can continue to fill in your application.

Personal Particulars
Please provide your updated personal data. All fields marked with "*" are mandatory. The applicant's name should be the same as the name shown on your Hong Kong Identity Card / Passport / Travel Document.
Non-local students are defined as persons entering Hong Kong for the purpose of education with a student visa / entry permit issued by the Director of Immigration.
Hong Kong permanent citizens are regarded as local applicants, even if you are currently residing or studying overseas. For example, Hong Kong citizens who are studying a bachelor degree in UK are regarded as local applicants. Likewise, Hong Kong citizens who are studying in international schools in Hong Kong are also regarded as local applicants.
If your highest qualification obtained / to be obtained is from overseas, you are required to indicate the country where you obtained / will obtain the qualification even if you are a local applicant.

Application Category
Applicants are allowed to select ONE category only. Please select the appropriate category which can best reflect your HIGHEST qualification / status i.e. Holder or Final Year Student of Associate Degree / Higher Diploma, and Others. Non-final year students of Associate Degree / Higher Diploma, and current HKDSE / GCE A-Level / International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma / Mainland JEE students are NOT eligible for admission.

Qualifications
Please enter the details of your education background in secondary / post-secondary schools and other professional qualifications in chronological order. Applicants may be required to present the original certificates / academic transcripts for verification purpose at anytime during the selection processes.

Examination Results
1.  HKALE, HKCEE, and/or HKDSE Attainments
Only examinations taken prior to 2024 will be considered, please input your results in the online application system and upload a complete set of the examination results.
 
2.  GCE Examinations
Only examinations taken prior to 2024 will be considered, please input your results in the online application system and upload a complete set of the examination results.
 
3.  National Joint College Entrance Examination (JEE) of Mainland China
Only examinations taken prior to 2024 will be considered, please input your results in the online application system and upload a complete set of the examination results.
 
4.  Other Public Examinations
Please specify the name of the examination(s), country / region which you take the examination(s), subject(s) and year(s) of attempt and grade(s). For examinations taken prior to 2024, please also indicate the score(s) obtained and upload a complete set of the examination results.

Supporting Documents
Please submit copies of the following documents:
1. HKID card (for local applicants) or passport / travel documents (for non-local applicants);
2. HKBU student ID card (if applicable);
3. Associate Degree / Higher Diploma certificates and academic transcripts #;
4. Pre-Associate Degree / Associate Degree Foundation Programme / Diploma certificates and/or academic transcripts #;
5. HKALE, HKCEE, and/or HKDSE certificates, if any;
6. GCEAL / GCEAS / GCEOL / GCSE / IGCSE results / certificates; International Baccalaureate Diploma, if any;
7. TOEFL / IELTS or other overseas public examination results, if any;
8. Result slip of National Joint College Entrance Examination (JEE) of Mainland China, if any;
9. For applicants with disabilities, please submit supporting document(s) to certify the disability type and degree; and
10. For submission of a document that is not written in English or Chinese, please also attach a certified translation in Chinese or English by a sworn translator, court translator, authorised public translator, certified translator, expert translator or official translator.
# Remarks:
  • Academic certificate(s) / transcript(s) should clearly show the Institution's logo, programme title, study level and applicant's name. Unofficial copy of academic certificate(s) / transcript(s) will only be accepted if stamped with the Institution's chop.
  • Do not submit the original examination results and certificates which will only be required for verification upon admission.
Submission of personal statement or reference letters is OPTIONAL. Referees may write reference letters in their own style and format. Applicants may upload the letters to the online application system or referees may send letters directly to us by post. Please write down (1) applicant's name (same as the one put in the online application), (2) applicant's programme choice and (3) application number on the top of documents for identification purpose.

You may submit the above-mentioned documents by various means:
  1. go to the "Supporting Documents" section to upload the documents in acceptable format; or
  2.
by post to Academic Registry Services Section

Applicants should arrange to submit all supporting documents by 17 June 2024. If you would like to submit the supporting documents by post, please write down (1) your name (same as the one you put in the online application), (2) your programme choice and (3) your application number on the top of the documents for identification purpose. (For applicants who intend to apply for more than one programme, please submit one full set of supporting documents for each programme.)

Documents not available at the time of application should be submitted through online application system or by post once they are available. However, any delay in submission of relevant academic results / qualifications / supporting information may affect your chance of being admitted to particular programmes.

Provision of any false / misleading information or failure to provide the requested supporting documents will lead to disqualification of your application for admission or withdrawal of the admission offer, where appropriate.

Personal Statement / Work Experience
Personal statement and work experience is OPTIONAL. You may write directly in the "Personal Statement" and "Work Experience" sections or upload the document in the "Supporting Documents" section. Information that may be helpful to your application, such as reasons for application, career aspiration, personal strengths, hobbies and interests, voluntary services, etc is welcome.

Submission of Application
Upon completion of the online application form and uploading the supporting documents, please remember to submit the application by 17 June 2024 (17:00) (Hong Kong Time). Please also read carefully the notes under the "Submit" section.

Payment
To complete the submission of your application, you are required to pay a non-refundable and non-transferable application fee of HK$450 for EACH programme on or before the application deadline. Otherwise, the application will not be further processed. Please settle the fee by credit card (VISA, MasterCard or China UnionPay Card), or by Online PPS, or by Alipay HK/CN, or by FPS, or by BOC Pay/UnionPay QR, or by WeChat Pay, through the online payment gateway.

If you choose to pay by China UnionPay ("CUP"), please ensure you have signed up your PRC credit or debit card with "CUP online payment".

Print a Copy of Application Form
Applicants are advised to print a copy of application form submitted for record by clicking "View My Application Data" on the Main Page.

Student Visa for Non-local Students
The Hong Kong Immigration Department requires non-local students to obtain a student visa / entry permit in order to study in Hong Kong. Applications for student visa should normally be made at least two months in advance.
The University will assist non-local students in applying for the student visa once confirmed acceptance of the admission offer.

Application Acknowledgement
After you have submitted the application, an application acknowledgement with your application number(s) will be sent to you by email. If you do not receive any acknowledgement email after submission of your application, please contact us at (852) 3411 3044.

Data Amendment and Supporting Documents Upload after Submission of Application
If you would like to make amendments of your Personal Particulars (e.g. telephone number, postal address, email address, etc), you should login to the Online Application System and submit your request via "Data Amendment" page. The University will update your Personal Particulars in the system accordingly.
If you would like to make amendments of other information (e.g. update of latest cGPA, English proficiency, personal statement, working experience, awards, etc ) or submit further supporting documents (e.g. submission of reference letter, academic certificates / transcripts, etc), you should login to the Online Application System and upload the relevant documents via "Supporting Documents" page.

Collection of Additional Information
Applicants may be required to submit course syllabus for University assessment and will be notified by email / phone.

Notification of Application Results
Applicants will be notified of interview invitation (if any) and admission results by email / phone / SMS. You can also view your latest application status and results via the Online Application System.
If an admission offer is made, you must decide whether or not to accept the offer by paying a non-refundable and non-transferable tuition fee by a specified date. If you do not pay by the specified deadline, you will be considered as declining the admission offer.

Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance
Personal Data collected is adhered to the Privacy Policy Statement / Personal Information Collection Statement (PPS/PICS) of the University. Plesae access to the PPS/PICS at http://www.hkbu.edu.hk/eng/about/privacy.jsp.
